Abstract. In this article, we undertake to discuss about the didactic aspects of the translators’ training inside the Applied Modern Languages Department of the Faculty of Letters of Cluj-Napoca. We will start by drafting the theoretical framework of this challenging profession that is being threatened nowadays by artificial intelligence. In this context, we will present our course offer, methods and strategies, as well as certain aspects related to students’ evaluation, with a focus on the mistake as a didactic tool for remediating failure. Moreover, particular attention will be paid to the practical course of Specialized Languages we teach inside the department and to the activity of our students within companies as part of their yearly internship period. As the main goal of our job is to render the teaching process pleasant and easy for students so that they be strongly motivated to participate in courses and transform their mistakes in progression tools, we propose for this article a combination of theoretical and practical chapters to reflect the abovementioned.
